BISKUPIN - the archaeological reservation in Central Europe. Excavations at Biskupin began in 1934 and excavations revealed a settlement built of wood over 2700 years ago. It had been preserved in excellent condition and before the Second World War was often referred to as the "Polish Pompeii".
