The Polish Geological Institute was founded by the Polish Parliament in 1919. The prime mission of the Institute is to conduct geological research of the country aimed at national economical development and environmental protection.

Acta Geologica Polonica publishes original papers on all aspects of geology. These papers must not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere, in entirety or in part. The pages are hosted by the University of Warsaw.
