Fifty thousand people came to a concert by David Gilmour, musician of the legendary Pink Floyd group, in the Polish Baltic sea port of Gdansk.
The concert marked the 26th anniversary of the August Agreements of 1980 between the striking workers and the then communist leaders of Poland. The Agreements led to the birth of Solidarity, the first free trade union in the communist bloc.
During the three hour concert Gilmour presented numbers from his solo album “On An Island” as well as old Pink Floyd hits.
