2006-04-26, 08:15
A former editor in chief of Lodz Television has been charged with committing a communist era crime, investigators of the National Remembrance Institute have said.

The editor, whose name was withheld, is the first person charged in the wake of an investigation into the vetting and sacking of journalists in the central Lodz region after imposition of martial law in 1981. He is accused of sacking 25 Polish Radio workers in Lodz for political reasons. He is facing up to 3 years in prison.
