Lithuania's new Prime Minister has held talks in Warsaw with representatives of the Polish parliament.
Gedyminas Kirkilas has also met with House Speaker Marek Jurek to discuss bilateral relations. Speaker Jurek told reporters the Lithuanian government has declared much good will in solving problems faced by the Polish minority in that country, particularly re-privatization issues in the Vilnius region which belonged to Poland before World War Two.
Marek Jurek positively assessed the presence of representatives of the Polish minority in the Lithuanian government coalition. Both politicians agreed on the need to assist democratic change in Eastern Europe. The Polish House Speaker also made note of the fact that Gedyminas Kirkilas has chosen Warsaw for his first foreign visit as Prime Minister.
