On 18 January soldiers from Polish Special Forces in co-operation with Special Forces of ANP arrested a terrorist from the Joint Priority Effect List, Gulab Khan Ak Saifudin.

Information on the place of stay of the terrorist came from many sources. It was one more success of Polish intelligence services.

The operation was carried out quietly and effectively. Polish and Afghan Special Forces soldiers unexpectedly entered the house where Gulab Khan was hiding together with his brother named Manjelom. Both terrorists were completely surprised and they did not resist during detention. During the operation land patrol of Quick Reaction Forces from Combat Group “Alfa” – a part of Polish Task Force waited in reserve.

Gulab Khan Ak Saifudin is a member of one of the most important terrorist group, HAQANI Network, acting in Paktika province. The main objective of HAQANI group are attacks on ISAF forces and government authorities.

Saifudin was present in Paktika province because of the task to destabilise situation in connection with transition process that started on 12th January and because of the planned attack on government buildings or one of the ISAF bases. The attack was to be conducted by the group commanded by Gulab Khan.
