Poland's PM Marcinkiewicz and Z. Brzezinski meet
2006-04-01, 20:46
Poland’s Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz has met in Warsaw with professor Zbigniew Brzezinski.

Poland’s Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz has met in Warsaw with professor Zbigniew Brzezinski, former aide to US president Carter, to discuss the situation in Ukraine and Belarus as well as Poland’s tasks in the European Union and cooperation with the US, including the problem of Iraq. Premier Marcinkiewicz observed that Pofessor Brzezinski is best qualified to analyze those issues.
Before the meeting Zbigniew Brzezinski spoke about Pope John Paul II and recalled how in 1980, when the risk of a Soviet intervention in Poland was high, he telephoned the pontiff and informed him about that danger. Brzezinski said that the Pope made an enormous impact on the course of world developments.
