A probe has been launched into a mysterious death of former construction minister and a prominent leftist politician Barbara Blida who shot herself during a police search of her home in the Silesian town of Siemianowice.
According to the special services coordinator Zbigniew Wasserman, her death was certainly a suicide. Justice minister Zbigniew Ziobro announced that the investigation on the matter will be held as soon as possible.
Both ministers are participating today in an extraordinary session in the lower house of the Polish parliament - the Sejm.
Meanwhile, many of today's Polish papers publish her last interview in which Blida said she did not want to be associated with politics any more. 57 year-old Blida was among people who were being investigated in connection with illicit payments made to public sector workers.
She was suspected of having paid bribes but no formal charges had been brought against her.
