National Assembly honours the late Pope
2005-04-06, 15:42
The National Assembly, the combined houses of the Diet and the Senate, gathered together to commemorate the late Pope John Paul II.

The ceremony included presentation of a recording of the pontiff's speech to the Assembly of June 11th 1999 which will later approve of an act of homage to the late Pope. After the session the MPs and senators will participate in a special mass in nearby Saint Alexander’s church. 250 members of both houses of the Parliament are expected to participate in the funeral on Friday.
